Fish Stew

This old recipe from the Veneto, “Broeto”, which is virtually unused today originated in the Caorle area. It was prepared by the families of fishermen with the least expensive fish, while the more valuable catch was sold at the town fish market. In the past "Broeto" only contained a small quantity of fish (known as “gò”) and was normally cooked in an earthenware pot on charcoal in the boat or in the casone.
